The Chancellor (in his Budget statement) indicated that any microgeneration investments undertaken/installed with effect from 1 October 2008 would not be subject to 'ad-hoc reassessments of Business rates liability' and that Government would also be considering the merits of further use of 'fiscal instuments' to promote energy efficiency in non-domestic buildings.
